| SPANISH 21 In the game of Blackjack, the term "spanish 21" is really a dramatic variation of the original blackjack game. In this game, the ten cards (but not the face cards) are eliminated from the deck. Since eliminating the ten cards would normally be a disadvantage for the player, the casino then allows some added rules to help the players - often including the ability to double down, split or surrender at any time.
