CONTINUOUS CARD SHUFFLER

BLACKJACK TERMS DICTIONARY

CONTINUOUS CARD SHUFFLER

In the game of Blackjack, the term "continuous card shuffler" means a version of an automatic card shuffler that that the dealer feeds used cards at the end of each hand and therefore is continually shuffling the deck.

In our own mathematical analysis, such continuous card shufflers do not hurt the basic odds - at least no more than a 6 or 8 deck blackjack game.  However, the real purpose of continuous card shufflers is to stop card counters.  Since the cards are continuously shuffled, there is really not much gain to counting the cards played - since they are back in the deck again for the next hand.

Many of the newer casinos - at least in Southern California seem to be using continuous card shufflers.  The purpose is to stop card counting.  Las Vegas has also seen many of their normal blackjack tables modified to use continuous card shufflers also.

Blackjack book   Book: The Complete Blackjack Survival Kit (click for info)
eBook Available from Google Play, Amazon Kindle, Barnes and Noble Nook

Does this book tell you how to win? No. It does tell you how you might get the odds in your favor, and gives some strategy tables for some of the more common blackjack games played in casinos. It also tries to explain using math and simulations why getting the odds in your favor may indeed improve your play, but why no one we know of can guarantee winning all of the time.
