Notes / Instructions:
Midi - (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) is a file ending in ".mid" that contains musical notes. Unlike audio music, however, the file is more like a roll on a player piano such that the notes themselves, such as "C" and "G", and expressions and controls such as volume changes and pitch bend are stored rather than the sounds. Playback of the midi files is by musical instrument keyboards, or by a combination of computer software and musical keyboards, or in some cases, by the computers themselves if they are so equipped with an audio card that recognizes midi sequences.
Particulars on these midi files:
- Midi Sequences done by myself, mostly from midi keyboard entry
- midi info above (number of bytes, year song was sequenced) Year issue: later years may be better than early years
- midi 1 format used above - unless noted otherwise (midi note sort first by channels, then time) - as opposed to midi 0 format(time only)
- Instrumentation patches follow Standard Midi protocol
- Channel 10 is for drums - Roland drums expected
- Channel 16 is often for the lead (melody)
- System Exclusive entries were used in some cases to allow channel 1 and 3 to be used by others of my midi instruments. Channel 1 for a Yamaha keyboard and channel 3 for Digitech vocalist programming. You could eliminate both the system exclusive information and in most cases the channel 1 and 3 data if you wish.
